Darlene Abbate Bartt, 86 years old of Lombard, Illinois, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her sister (Barbara) and her three children (T.J., Amy and Darrell) on Oct. 7, 2026.
Darlene was born on Aug. 26, 1940, in Chicago, Illinois, to Amelia and Libero Abbate.
Darlene Bartt is survived by her devoted family--Mother of T.J. (Melissa), Amy, and Darrell Bartt; Grandmother of Sierra, Jamie, Dylan, Skylar and Phoebe Bart; Sister, Barbara Bartt; Aunt of Russell! (Joanna) Bartt and Great Aunt to Ella and Calvin Bart.
Darlene is a proud 56-year resident of Lombard and a long-time parishioner of Christ the King Church. She is recognized and loved for being an energy to her family and her community by planning and executing village recycling events and a 25-year member of the Lombard Gardening Club, where she actively participated in the annual Lilac Parade; and most importantly, the grandma who attended every small or big event in the lives of her children and grandchildren, even traveling frequently to Colorado.
A visitation will be held on Oct. 24, 2026, at Brust Funeral Home, located at 135 S. Main Street in Lombard from 3 to 6:30 p.m. Please join us all in a brief 30-minute concluding prayer service for Darlene Bartt.
